These owners have explored the Swedish coastline and she has been cherished ashore under cover. The completed bucket list in their ownership included the Baltic, Orkney Isles, Scotland West coast, Barcelona and then on the Eastern Med where she spent several seasons in Corfu. She is now back in Blighty for Collection 20.
Here is the griff from these owners about this super Scandinavian –
`We bought SALAMANDER from Nordic Marine in Poole in October 2005. At that time she was lying in Cobbs Quay Marina, and her owner lived in Windermere. She was super under used. In May 2006, we bought her and put all that right! We sailed her to the Baltic. In the winters of 2006/07/08 she was undercover in Sweden. In 2009 she was over-wintered in Troon Marina, in 2010 in MDL Marina – Hayling Island, 2011 MDL Spain, 2010/13 Gouvia Marina – Corfu.
Since fitting the 2 large solar panels over the cockpit and by making water for an hour a day, we found ourselves to be almost entirely independent in the Med. The longest we spent without shore power was 13 days and, as long as the engine is run for a couple of hours, which is usually necessary when leaving and entering harbour, making water, or when leaving or arriving in an anchorage, we find battery power not to be a problem.
