Berthon are delighted to announce the launch of the Windy SR44 Blackhawk at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. This exciting new project is the result of three years of development and careful collaboration between respected names in the yachting industry, including Dubois Naval Architects, Design Unlimited, the Windy design team and renowned Norwegian naval architect Hans Jorgen Johnsen.
The Blackhawk is a 43’ performance yacht, equally suited to leisure use or super yacht tender applications. She draws on the style and DNA of the highly successful Windy SR52 Blackbird which launched the Windy Yacht Projects division. In 2019 no less than five examples of the SR52 Blackbird have been delivered together with a number of exciting and highly detailed custom projects.
The generous and practical layout allows space for relaxation as well as easy access to the water for swimming and water sports. The deck includes a generous sun pad forward and safe walkaround side decks leading back to the central cockpit. There is a large sociable u-shaped seating area, wet bar, and spacious aft-sun pad, which lifts to reveal the tender garage. There are also a number of quality sun shade options available.
The main wet bar area can be fitted out with a fridge, barbecue and other accessories. For added convenience, a hydraulic gangway and swimming platform can also be specified.
Her accommodation is meticulously styled with a number of luxurious interior design schemes available. Ideal as a comfortable family weekender, she offers accommodation for four, galley and spacious shower compartment. For super yacht applications, she is also well suited for accommodating additional crew from the mothership, or can operate and accommodate her crew independently.
Her stylish and sleek lines are guaranteed to turn heads, but it’s her handling and performance out on the water that really sets the SR44 Blackhawk apart. The highly efficient deep-v hull ensures a smooth, dry and stable ride at well over 40 knots. Owners can choose either IPS600 or IPS650, and D6-400 or D6-440 stern drives from Volvo Penta. All engine options come with joystick control for easy docking.
The latest Volvo Penta glass cockpit is fitted in the helm, displaying all the operator information via a single interface. The helm benefits from clear commanding views and great ergonomics.
