A true “Gran Turismo”, the Advanced 62 merges state of the art hydro and aero dynamics with styling and appeal. The hull, appendages and sail plan are by Roberto Biscontini, a well-known name in the world of performance sailing, who designed the America’s Cup racer IL MORO DI VENEZIA in 1989. He has successively worked with the Pact 95 team, Young America BMW Oracle Racing, Luna Rossa and Team New Zealand as well as designed the Volvo Open 70s with Camper Emirates Team New Zealand.
More recently, he has had accolades with other cruising yachts and not only designs well thought out yachts that perform well, but more important of all, they are pretty and give the all-important warm ‘row away’ feeling.
Just one look at this yacht and you want to be out sailing. Agile and clean, simple and efficient the A62 allows you to enjoy sailing efficiently and performance combined with ease of handling. Sleek and modern exterior styling with a functional deck layout and ample cockpit make for efficient manoeuvring while racing and relaxed outdoor living while cruising.
Open plan living is a staple of the Advanced range, and much along the lines of residential properties, thy have aimed for the saloon and galley areas to be conjoined, giving a comfortable, and open entertainment space, flooded with natural light and visibility courtesy of the sleekly designed deck saloon and topside windows.
Nauta Yacht Design has carefully planned the spaces below decks to include two functional guest cabins aft (with wide double or twin forward-facing berths), a light-flooded open space saloon and an impressive owner’s cabin fore. All of this thanks to naval architect Roberto Biscontini’s powerful forward sections and long water line.
A USP of Biscontini’s design DNA as per the Advanced 44, are the more U shaped bow sections, to provide more buoyancy as the yacht pitches but not to increase exponentially as per the traditional V shaped bows. This keeps in check pitching moment as buoyancy forces the bow upwards. A very clever design trick that keeps the yacht comfortable and adds to performance.
The aft sections of the yacht are powerful, but also modest to keep the yacht as an all-round performer, upwind and down and also in lighter conditions, making her the perfect Mediterranean family cruiser.
For the more avid racer, the A62 has the race option, with an extra 7% of upwind sail area, full carbon construction and extended draft with a 6% lower displacement and higher righting moment. A true sports cruiser.
