Exceptionally rare to our shores, the motoscafo is the instantly recognizable emblem of Venice’s private water limousine service. With a slim, sharp mahogany hull to cleave the broken waters of their lagoon, and glide silently under the Rialto, running their passengers and luggage from Marco Polo airport to the hotels of the Lido and Southern islands, these craft needs to be seaworthy as well as most elegant. EGLÉ was laid down by Cantiere Chia on the Guidecca in 1974 and has been evidently cherished and updated, and presented in immaculate condition with fresh varnish and bags of charm, she is ready for further adventures.

I have thoroughly enjoyed EGLÉ, which is a rare and beautiful boat, ideal as a tender to a large mega yacht, or delightful for family and friends in coastal waters. Beautifully restored to glory by Peter Freebody of Marlow on the Thames, I have thoroughly cherished her. She is one of a kind and a real head-turner.
