No introduction is necessary here – the name speaks for itself. At the vanguard of American construction and design for the dayboat and weekend market since 1957, when Dick Fisher saw a gap in the market for a safe, durable, outboard-engined hull, Boston Whaler made their mark building the 13‘. Unsinkable, cathedral-hulled, and designed in conjunction with Ray Hunt, the boats were exceptionally stable, robust and built to last. The patented Whaler Unibond construction technique infuses the wet inner and outer mouldings together, whilst polyurethane liquid is introduced into the mould, drying expansively into a closed cell foam urethane that bonds the structure into an unsinkable monocoque.
The Outrage range of offshore fast-fishing boats is moulded with the sharpest stem profile of any Whaler, to punch through more boisterous conditions – allowing her crew to maintain fast speeds in greater comfort than flatter hulls. Her knuckledbows and pronounced spray rails shrug off spray with aplomb, ensuing a high-riding, dry ride. Her hull section then flattens to a wide flare aft- providing excellent floatation, and therefore stability, especially when at rest.
Boston Whaler 210 Outrage, THE FIZZ II is fully-equipped for day cruising, with a deck shower, colour plotter, DSC VHF, compass and bimini to provide some shade in the summer heat, and there is plenty of storage for skis, safety kit and general boating paraphernalia. Sitting on a twin-axled road trailer, she can be towed home for the winter, or trailed down to your favourite cruising ground for the summer holidays. In other words this is an eminently practical tool; easy to live with – simple to maintain and these virtues have kept the Boston Whaler at the top of the shopping list for generations of boaters.
