Broker’s Comments

OASIS is one of the nicest Bristols this office has seen. She was built for a very knowledgeable New England yachtsman who had spent twelve years cruising the Caribbean on his Stevens 47 before deciding to build a larger version with more systems and space. He added vinylester to her hull layup, air conditioning, generator, watermaker, bow thruster, plus better fridge and freezer capacity. It is now time for a new owner to purchase her and derive from her the kind of enjoyment she has been built for and maintained to deliver. This is truly a unique opportunity to purchase a proper, well-built yacht at a fraction of the replacement cost.

Maintained to the highest level by a very experienced owner, OASIS has been continually updated and improved over the past twenty years, rendering her “state of the art”. She has a sparkling new paint job, her ports and hull windows done, and cabin top fresh and clean, looks stunning.

A Bristol one-off, she was designed by Dieter Empacher and the current original owner to enhance their regular visits to the Caribbean with three staterooms, a spacious galley, and two comfortable heads with separate showers. This also has made her a very solid, incredibly seaworthy boat, very comfortable running long distances and offshore. She is an extremely comfortable 60’ yacht that has transited to and from the Caribbean some 20 times without difficulty.

Owner’s Comments

We built OASIS in 1996/97 to cruise the Caribbean waters in winter and New England in summer, and to transit the 1700 nm trip back and forth comfortably. From 1997 to 2014, we have cruised all the Leewards and Windwards, across the Venezuela and Columbia Coasts, thru the Panama Canal and up the Costa Rican west coast, up the Rio Dulce River in Guatemala, all around Belize and the Mexican coast. From 2014 forward OASIS has been our summer boat in Newport, during which time we replaced the sails, put on new teak decks in 2015, re-bedded all the house ports and repainted the whole boat in 2018 plus many other small details. Now twenty-four years later, it is time to move to the next step, having achieved everything we set out to do with OASIS and sell her to someone who can love her as we have. She is amazing!
