The Discovery 54 was designed by Dubois Naval Architects and further reimagined by Discovery Group for extensive bluewater cruising with family and friends. Easy sail handling systems, electric winches and bow/stern thrusters, enable this yacht to be easily sailed single-handed. Previous hulls were built with the Southerly swing keel, this owner however came to Discovery Group having looked at the Discovery 55 & 58 but deciding the more modern layout of the 54 suited their sailing needs, therefore a fixed keel was born!

Quality is present in every inch of a Discovery – with the inherent strength of the keel structure hand laminated directly to the hull and the high specification of the materials used, such as carbon fibre; a testimony to the overall build.

When splashed this modal received high praise from the yachting press, at boat shows and including winning 2018 Bluewater Cruiser of the Year at the British Yachting Awards.

Discovery 54 MINOTS LIGHT has been built, as you would expect, to the highest Discovery standards. She is a chance to own a one of a kind, including having the shoal keel option giving an owner the chance to access shallower anchorages or creek crawl where other yachts of the same size cannot get. At the time of build, the owner spec’d over £300,000 worth of extras meaning she has a superb specification, with attention to detail clear throughout including having the latest technology and navigation equipment.

Down below, you have the customary detailed woodwork with the raised saloon and a large uncompromised aft cabin that is famous with these yachts. Another special feature down below, is the custom built third heads in the Pullmans cabin that is perfect for crew or guests giving in total a three cabins / three heads layout.

Since launch in Southampton, she has been lightly used for family holidays – sailing around the south coast & Channel Islands. During this time she has always been cared for by a full time captain and been serviced regularly with anything needed or replaced being done. Sadly, due to relocation of the owner’s family this yacht now comes onto the market looking for a new home.
