Broker’s Comments

The Grand Soleil 80 CL is a stunning new design from the board of Ceccarelli, and built in the well renowned custom yard of Adria, in Fano on the East coast of Italy. Starting with the full carbon hull, and built to tight weight considerations, this yacht has been constructed to be one of the finest cruisier/racer yachts on the market. She has a full racing suite of sails, and can be set up to race competitively as well as cruised with a family and skipper. The internal layout is comfortable, with many light openings flooding the interior with natural light and an open plan and comfortable saloon area.

On deck the striking plumb bow and reverse sheer just below the topsides gives a modern rakish look, an uncluttered foredeck with plenty of space for relaxing or for crew to work efficiently.

The bowsprit cleverly doubles up as anchor storage and has attachment points for Code 0 and Asymmetric spinnakers.

A full width self-tacking jib track separates the side decks and coach roof.

The large, open cockpit again has plenty of space, with seating for many, with a removable table for crew manoeuvres while racing, and enabling all sails to stay on deck to protect the interior.

All sail controls are lead back to the helm and crew positions, aft of the cockpit seating area, for ease of short-handed sailing and also to keep the area uncluttered and safe.

A significant USP of the yacht is the clean lines, and tidy deck layout.

Split backstays allow an unobstructed path to the bathing platform and dinghy garage, with the secondary winches conveniently placed for mooring as well as sail control duties.

All push button of course.

The interior of the yacht is very well appointed, with the galley conveniently situated aft on the port side and in a separate area of the yacht for crew and also the yacht’s more noisy systems to keep the main cabins quiet.

Two double and one single cabin for guests – all have their own heads and are well separated in the yacht. The owner’s suite is beautifully appointed and has a clever use of space to interconnect the heads, and storage areas.

The yacht really is a new generation of performance cruising that can also be used on the racecourse but she is by no means an out and out racing yacht.

Note: Racing sails not included.
