Broker’s Comments

What a piece of kit Hardy build. You can tell that Hardy 50, PASIPHAË has some heavy commercial heritage behind her, from the size of the stringers and ribs on show in her inner hull, to the heated screens, which allow a mist-free clear view over her decks from the inner helm. Her sea-kindly hull allows a smooth, damped ride through confused seas that would keep similar hard-chined boats in dock, and thus her passage-making potential is far better.

Her Andrew Wolstenholme’s hull features blade-like forward sections that cleave the water neatly in twain, whilst flicking it astray with vim and vigour. She is solid as a rock (as you should expect from her 27 tons light loading…) as she passes through broken water, and is thus able to maintain a speed at a level of comfort that would see any planning hull literally stopped dead in the water.

PASIPHAË is the last Hardy 50 to have come out of the Hardy sheds in North Walsham, prior to the welcome take-over of the Hardy brand by Mylor’s Cockwells Ltd., and has enjoyed two diligent ownerships since new. She has the larger MAN R6-800 diesels, and can achieve a phenomenal top speed of 30 knots if required, or slip along at 6 knots for litres per hour fuel burn in single figures. Her machinery is housed behind a watertight bulkhead door, as you would expect from a proper commercial sea-going vessel, and she has useful utility and study areas, as well as six berths in three cabins.

Brokerage craft in this condition, with a class A rating, are few and far between – especially in the current used yacht climate. She is, and will make, a quite superb cruising motor-yacht for those who do not wish to be pegged back by a bit of breeze. She is offered to the market in a main agent-serviced condition, with a complete set of instruction manuals, an excellent pedigree, and is a complete joy to be on board, and to show.

This particular vessel is featured in the August 2016 Motor Boat & Yachting feature and video on the Hardy 50 – please do call for a copy.

Owner’s Comments

It has been a difficult decision to list the perfect boat for sale. The Hardy 50 is a great confidence builder – with a soft ride due to the great hull design of renowned Naval Architect Andrew Wolstenholme.

Easily handled by two – with good visibility all around, comfortable for six with good access to all areas, safe walkways and plenty of storage space.

The Hardy 50 is in a class of its own, with the quality of build, great level of comfort whilst at sea, and if the sea state increases the power from the MAN Engines have the capability to get to port.

We have enjoyed some great trips on PASIPHAË and used her all year round. We now have a Hardy 62. If we should downsize in the future we would without a doubt return to the Hardy 50.
