This 2005 Horizon was substantially laid-up by Vision Yachts, using SCRIMP infusion technology to form a light, stiff and very fair hull. She is powered by the reliable Caterpillar C-18 diesel at 1000HP each side, with digital telemetry for each engine, including burn and historical data, to hand on the displays at lower and fly-bridge helms. With relatively low hours, and a very easily-worked engine space, these are superb blocks for such an application, and she benefits from a third control station on her aft port cockpit pillar, with throttle controls and thrusters for easy berthing.
AETHENA OF LONDON of the four cabin/four heads layout – with a full-beam master cabin lying midships, and three further double cabins. The aft cabin is accessed via the bathing platform door, and can be used as crew space if desired – with a washer-dryer, heads/shower and direct access to the machinery space. Her saloon deck has an open, relaxed lounge area facing to starboard, and a full A/V system is concealed in her cabinetry here. Moving forward through the fully-fitted galley to port and dinette/seating area to starboard, the lower helm is located to port, opposite the deck access door and navigation table.
Her fly-bridge moulding overhangs the side decks to keep the sun off her windows and teak-laid decks, and also shades the aft cockpit – which has moulded stairs up to the fly-bridge, and a large oval dining table with a seating area. The fly-bridge has a central forward helm console, plenty of seating and storage, with the regulation wet-bar and a Besenzoni dinghy crane fixed aft for launch and retrieval of the tender from the bathing platform mountings.
She is civilised and powerful under way, with a very soft-riding hull and a long-legged cruising gait. Fairly rare, and often over-looked – this is a very competent cruising motor-yacht and should be on your shopping list.
