The Iguana X100 has been a hugely popular model, due to its Hypalon tubes bolstering its offshore capability and family friendly deck layout that safely seats eight. The twin Mercury V8 300hp outboards offer an impressive top end performance of 48 knots. However, more importantly a cruising speed of 32 knots can be effortlessly maintained in order to explore the beauty spots on our shorelines. This Iguana X100 has been extremely well specified, including a joystick for ease of docking and a separate electric head. She has now run a modest 55 engine hours which reflects in her current condition.
The sharp deep V of the Iguana pierces through the waves, while the spray rail that run the full length of the hull, create lift and guides the Iguana quickly onto the plane. With the legs safely stowed the hull benefits from the 350 kilos of ballast sitting above the waterline on each side, creating remarkable stability for a 30ft sports cruiser. Interestingly the air flows between the legs of the mobility system, behaving similarly to a stepped hull. All of this translates into epic fun performance, while keeping the crew safe and dry!
Iguana have not reinvented the wheel with their mobility system, which is a similar design to what you would find on a tank and therefore very reliable. To make the landing gear seaworthy the team had to choose the materials carefully, that is why the undercarriage is made of marine grade aluminium, nylon and the tracks themselves are rubber lined with Kevlar. Iguana have a unique tensioning system that keep the tracks under a specified load at all times and slackened when not in use to reduce wear. The tracks are powered by hydraulics from a conventional combustion engine. The clue is in the name of the mobility system, as the tracks move independently and are extremely agile. Inclines of up to 40 degrees can be tackled over a whole variety of different terrains.
I know you are thinking it is too good to be true! I guarantee you it is not. Get in touch to arrange your test drive today +44 (0) 1590 679222.
