MINNALOUSHE is a recent example of her class and she is highly specified for comfortable and relaxed family cruising. She has the spacious owners’ layout in 3 cabins with the addition of the skipper’s cabin, which is perfect when you have a paid hand aboard.
With her modern, uncompromising good looks from the Philippe Briand design team, with furling rig and large aft cockpit with twin carbon wheels, she is a fantastic platform from which to enjoy warm water cruising in great comfort. She is also a capable and fast sailing yacht.
Her light wood interior gives an airy and spacious feel below, coupled with hydraulic main dining table, Bose surround sound, fusion entertainment and a lift-up TV – gives you a luxurious main cabin. With full air conditioning, including in the skipper’s cabin, generator and watermaker, she is set-up for extended cruising. Upgraded gel batteries add to her offshore capability.
Her optional Code Zero and upgraded Yanmar engine gives her consistently fast passage making ability all controlled from the cockpit – with electric powered furling winches.
She is fitted with the upgraded carbon wheels and larger instrument console where dual touch-screen Raymarine i70’s and colour digital radar give the helm all the information they need for safe passagemaking.
An outboard crane and retractable davits can safely store a 3.2m rib and 20hp outboard, giving you a dry and fast ride ashore or for towing wake-boards and ringos. Coupled with two blow-up paddle boards, this gives the boat plenty of options for fun for all the family.
MINNALOUSHE has been priced to sell and she offers the opportunity to cruise in the Western Mediterranean in style and comfort this summer in a yacht that is ready to sail.
Our yacht has been the perfect home away from home, allowing us to cruise the Mediterranean in comfort, style and safety. Having air conditioning, dishwasher and a decent sized and powered tender has made the experience so memorable and pleasurable.
I have spent many years reading Yachting World and probably know far too much information on what’s around on the market but for me the big selling points of the Jeanneau 54 are the size of the cockpit, both for eating and sunbathing, and the fold out aft swim platform which means you can just walk down to the sea level and dive in. She was also designed by Andrew Winch who incorporated a lot of bigger yacht features, such as raised toe rails and foredeck cushions – I think a first at the time for sailing yachts.
Over the past three years we have loved exploring the islands of Sardinia and Corsica as well as trips across to mainland Italy – ranging from the North Coast of Italy down to the Amalfi coast. We have also sailed down to Sicily and across to Malta. The size of yacht, sail configuration and engine size means we can consistently passage plan at 6.5 knots without stressing anything.
When we were specifying the fit-out, we wanted her to be optimised for cruising comfort, so the upgraded mattresses, full air conditioning were must haves – the yacht already came with a large upright fridge freezer. We also wanted to be able to keep out of marinas so the watermaker and extra fuel tank meant that we could happily cruise for weeks at a time – other than runs in the rib to stock up on local delicacies!
