Broker’s Comments

Najad 505, SIGAL was built for the current owner. She has a highly customized interior designed by Rhoades Young. This included special styling and finish throughout to produce a much lighter, more modern look.

SIGAL was built with a 3-cabin layout, but her owner found the small forward port cabin to be useless and it compromised the guest cabin forward. In 2020 he had the forward area of SIGAL redesigned and rebuilt to provide one large forward cabin, with double berth, sofa, and very large wardrobe and stowage space. Together with the forward guest toilet and shower area this is a wonderful VIP guest cabin, matching the comfort of the aft owner cabin.

In the stern the owner’s cabin has a centrally located double berth. To port of the bed is a seat, bookshelf and lockers. To starboard of the bed is a seat with desk / vanity. In front of the bed are more lockers and there is stowage under the bed also. Forward on starboard side is the ensuite bathroom including shower stall.

The saloon has a settee on starboard, with bookshelf and lockers outboard. To port side is an L shape sofa and custom saloon table unit. The saloon is very light and airy with hull ports on each side and overhead hatches / skylights, and of course the custom finish with white panelling.

The longitudinal galley is located down the port side aft of the saloon forming the passage to the aft cabin. It is well equipped and has capacious lockers.

The comfortable navigation area is located on starboard side aft of the saloon.

The entrance way / companionway stairs lift to give access to the engine bay – there is also an access door at the aft section of the galley.

Owner’s Comments

Selected with enthusiasm, sailed with passion, cared for with love, SIGAL has sailed us from the Skagerrak to the Mediterranean, from Norway to Sicily. For two of us, sometimes with friends, she combines in a perfect small luxury cruiser every possible comfort with seaworthiness, robustness, elegance and speed.

The N505 CC is a modern, comfortable a cruiser offering amazing sailing characteristics. The robust construction and design make her a safe and stable yacht in any conditions, which is of course in line with what you would expect from a modern Najad and why I ordered this new yacht to be built for me.

When I ordered the yacht, I demanded a high specification and many upgrades. The factory added over 200,000 Euro worth of extras. Some of these we list below.

The hull shape provides for excellent seaworthiness. Her deck plan and rig (with my special addition of the carbon mast and boom furling) are contributing factors to high comfort when sailing but more important to us meant my wife and I could easily sail and handle her alone. To make handling in port easier I added bow and stern thrusters.

On deck the boat is easy to move around on – she has flush hatches and good handholds. The centre cockpit is very large for a 50ft yacht and has good space for 6 people.

The spacious aft deck also has large stowage lockers. There is easy access to the water via the steps and platform at the stern. In the transom are doors giving access to the gas locker and more stowage.

I have enjoyed sailing SIGAL with my wife (after whom the yacht is named). We have made some tours of the Mediterranean but never made the Atlantic crossing we hoped to. Now life provides us with new adventures that will keep us away from Europe for long periods, so I find it is a suitable time to sell my wonderful yacht.
