The Swan 60 is a superb cruiser / racer in the classic Nautor style – wedge shape deck, excellent sailing ability, and a luxurious fit out. VICTORIA has been set up for a cruising role, with hydraulic Reckmann furlers to both genoa and staysail. She also has a replaced and more powerful diesel engine, a replaced generator, and extra fuel capacity to standard. The Swan 60 has a good engine room area and plenty of room for all the cruising amenities as well as excellent accommodation.
VICTORIA has a semi-custom interior with owners’ cabin aft, two guest cabins forward, all of which have private toilet/shower. There is a further fourth cabin forward, conceived as crew quarters, also with private toilet. The galley is well positioned for use a sea. The full width main salon with U shaped settee and dining table, plus the settee and coffee table opposite is a wonderful living area – light and spacious and with good stowage.
On deck the Swan 60 has a two-cockpit plan – aft helm cockpit (with in this case a single wheel and an aft companionway to the aft cabin), and a central guest cockpit that is free of winches and perfect for alfresco dining and relaxing. Both cockpits are well protected by sprayhood and bimini.
The first owners of the yacht were Swedish, she was then named L’ONDINE. Her second owners bought her in Palma 2002 and were also Swedish. The third owner, a Dane, bought the yacht in Palma in 2005, renamed her VICTORIA and used her for Med cruising. He replaced both main engine and generator in his ownership. When in 2007 he wanted to trade up to a larger yacht for a world trip VICTORIA was sold to her current Spanish owners.
They have based the yacht at their hometown of Alicante and used her as a family yacht for Med cruising. In their first years they cruised to the east Med area as well as Italy, Sardinia, France, etc. In recent years the yacht saw lighter use with most cruising limited to Spanish waters.
I bought the yacht is 2007. She was our first “big yacht”. We have enjoyed VICTORIA immensely as a family. In the earlier years we cruised through the Med area including north Africa and Greece. In more recent years as my children became older, we had less time and have cruised mostly in Spanish waters – the southern coast and the Balearic Islands. I have been my own captain and managed service and maintenance myself using the good facilities here in my hometown of Alicante. We live close to the yacht and I enjoy spending time on board. However live changes, grandsons approach, and now is time to part with VICTORIA. She is now due a lift out and general service. There also some life-cycle works approaching. On systems such as air conditioning and refrigeration I am happy to discuss solutions with a buyer.
