Oyster 655, DAENA is part of a successful class of high quality world cruising yachts from Rob Humphreys and Oyster that can be handled by families but which also have room for crew as you wish. DAENA was built with a very comprehensive specification including automated rig, North Sails, non-standard teak interior with a lovely bench seat amidships in the saloon and the skippers’ cabin provides a generous single berth with masses of storage for spares, all built to order. She has grooved teak floors and Cooney davits. She has been sparingly used through life, and has not left Europe. In 2018 she had a €250,000 refit including repaint of the rig and re-rig, new canvas work and many other upgrades.

DAENA today is gleaming. Both interior and exterior are in exceptional condition for her age. She is only now being offered for sale because although her current owner loves her, he wants to buy a larger yacht because of his growing family. She is a fantastic platform for world cruising.

I purchased DAENA with plans for an Atlantic crossing and circumnavigation. I was looking for a solid, safe and reliable yacht which also offered comfort and luxury for long term live aboard and the Oyster 655 really did tick all the boxes. In addition Oyster Yachts provide excellent support for their pre-owned yachts, giving me terrific peace of mind.

I have sailed DAENA in the Mediterranean mostly. I sailed her from Cyprus, cruised all summer there and then headed for Palma de Mallorca in September to join the Palma Oyster Regatta. Having spent 14 weeks aboard, DAENA has proven herself to be everything I hoped for and more. She is wonderfully spacious and comfortable below decks and sails beautifully in all conditions.

DAENA has been well looked after. She has received all the necessary services to her systems and any minor repairs needed. As a small example as I write this she has just had a new fresh water pump (old one kept on board as a spare) and some fresh shore lines and sheets.

You can sail DAENA comfortably with 7-8 people. However, I have a large family and many friends to share my sailing with. I now wish to upgrade to a larger Oyster to accommodate more crew members.
