Berthon are delighted to represent 655/13 ROCK OYSTER on the brokerage market.
The 655 is a proven performer, ideal as a Med based yacht and very easily capable for around the world or Caribbean cruising. Her voluminous interior is flooded with natural light from the hallmark Deck Saloon windows.
ROCK OYSTER is now in her second ownership since new and we consider her to be a stunning example of the popular 655 model.
Her owner has ensured everything is in A1 condition including updates and a refit in 2018-19. Previously skipper maintained she is currently looked after by the Berthon service team in Palma.
Extras added at build included inboard hydraulic passarelle, Hall spars Carbon in-mast furling rig, full air conditioning and diesel heating.
More recent updates include New North 3Di sails on the recent NDT tested rig – thus ensuring she is “ready to go”.
With the in-mast furling and hydraulic Reckmann headsail furling she retains the easy to handle / short-handed sailing characteristics that the 655 is well known for.
ROCK OYSTER features a Cherry wood interior finish, along with a chequerboard teak cabin sole, giving her a classic feel.
She is the perfect choice for those wishing to step into a beautifully maintained, turnkey blue-water cruising yacht.
In late 2018, ROCK OYSTER obtained a Commercial Registration and with MECAL has a “small commercial sailing vessel certificate, category 2” that is valid until October 2023. However, the yacht has not carried out any charter. However, a new owner could, if he wishes, maintain this commercial status and do charter if they wished.
ROCK OYSTER is certainly the highest spec 655 ever built at 3.2 M Euros. Since then no money has been spared in her upkeep with a full-time skipper and additional crew.
I have sailed ROCK OYSTER extensively in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and up the USA East Coast. Always plenty of room to sail with friends and to entertain in some style, she is equally very comfortable on passage and sails well and safely in all weathers. I have enjoyed the more extensive specification than my previous Oyster 56, which has added to my family’s enjoyment considerably over the last few years.
Time has come to take a break and experience other adventures. I will of course come back to sailing and of course, I will no doubt buy another Oyster.
