Broker’s Comments

Oyster Yachts are regarded to many as the best of British boat building. They are synonymous with high-end build quality and superlative sea-keeping. Luxurious fit and finish sprinkled with an exuberant attention to detail has kept Oyster at the top for well over 30 years, in an industry where sadly many great builders are assigned to history. Oyster owners naturally yearned for a gentleman’s motor-yacht, cut from the same cloth, with comfortable accommodation, sea keeping ability and outright style. In 2005, the Oyster LD43 was born and boy was it different!

Jet drives were selected for easy manoeuvring and draft viability, so that one could get close to the beach in a calm and relaxed fashion. To accommodate the performance of the jets, the hull needed to be strong and carbon, kevlar composites were moulded to the high-load areas. The hull design is a deep-V forward to break the first wave, while the flared top sides and spray rails push water aside. The aft end of the hull leads to a flatter rounded section for maximum efficiency of the jets.

An enormous cockpit and accommodating saloon, discloses the meaning of LD (lunch and dinner), with the option of alfresco and indoor dining. A single double berth and head means that this is no multi-couple accommodation yacht. Guests are welcome, but should leave after dinner! The galley is well equipped and there is plenty of storage to extend your cruising.

Oyster LD43, FLORIDITA first went splash in 2006, has been professionally maintained and comes highly recommended. She is powered from a pair of Yanmar 480hp diesels that offer superb cruising speed in the mid twenties and the autopilot makes for effortless long distance passages. The twin Hamilton water jet drive propulsion system is controlled by a computer, affectionately named Mouseboat and, with fingertip berthing control, you will be the envy of your fellow yachtsman.

This experienced owner evidently as cherished his time with FLORIDITA and has kept on top of her and her maintenance. She is now ready and waiting to take new owners onto her next adventure!
