A true legend and world record holder. Scorpion 10m Cruiser “Hot Lemon V” is most famous for setting the sub 30ft “Round Britain” record in a blistering time of 31 hours 22 minutes that still stands strong today! “Hot Lemon V” 60 knot top end is clearly fast, having said that, it’s not her speed that smashes the competition, it’s her ability to maintain speed through arduous conditions. Credit goes to Lorne Campbell for designing the twin stepped Deep V hull built from GRP, using foam sandwich technique, saving weight and benefiting from a softer ride.

Dave Crawford Marine (Yanmar dealers) have handled the maintenance of the twin Yanmar 315HP, which have been removed anually and comprehensively checked over, with parts repaced before failing. As you would expect “Hot Lemon” has extensive navigation equipment, along with capacity of 900 litres of diesel, which can be transferred across two tanks in the intrest of trim. Its easy to forget that the reason Scorpion 10m cruiser has been so successful is also down to it day boat qualities and “Hot Lemon” although stripped down for the benefit of racing, does come equipped with a sea water head and comfortable twin berth in case all the fun just gets to much!!
