Broker’s Comments

In truly outstanding condition, Shipman 63 LUNNA A has been refreshed for the 2019 ARC race and cruising in the Caribbean and due back to the Mediterranean in April 2020. She is a very high specification Shipman 63, with EC6 carbon rigging, carbon spars and a more open plan interior than the standard Shipman – finished in a painted bright and airy style; with beautiful smoky blue weave lacquered panels.

Her USP in comparison to the other Shipman 63 yachts built is three full en-suite cabins as opposed to two with an elevated navigation station and a dedicated captain’s bunk cabin in the forepeak with its own heads. The standard of finish is consistent throughout the yacht and allows the crew cabin to be used as guest accommodation if required.

A bright and airy open plan saloon, with newly fitted seating plan and fold out main table maximises space when under way but also enables eight to sit comfortably alongside the well-proportioned galley with island unit for storage and cleverly housing the yachts electrical heart.

The clever and compact navigation area has sufficient space for a folded chart, but does not impinge on the living space, and gives the volume in the standard yacht to a third heads for the starboard aft cabin.

All navigation is fed through the chartplotter on deck and a repeater at the navigation area below. A newly fitted Shipman systems management screen optimises the space perfectly.

On deck, the yacht has a cleverly arranged sail handling system; most lines led back to the helm area, and controlled using powered winches and a bank of clutches. The anchor is deployed using a very clever retractable arm system that stows away neatly when under way, all at the touch of a button. Code 0 is stored in a strong canvas bag close to the base of the mast, which is detachable to stow in the lazarette if not required.

Coupled with the excellent Shipman DNA of pre-preg carbon build, excellent deck layout for shorthanded sailing, it is no wonder these yachts are very well sought after for fast, safe and comfortable passage making and the unique panoramic deckhouse saloon windows.
