With the combination of striking good looks, high build quality and stellar performance, the Solaris 47 has been an extremely popular boat since its introduction in 2016. SOLARIS 47-012 is a well-specified yacht and is still being pampered by her original owner. The boat has been mostly day sailed and has spent her life in one of the newer marinas in Turkey.
Three large comfortable cabins, two heads and a spacious saloon are all air-conditioned, which is also a possibility at anchor using her generator. Beautiful oak interior woodwork and a retractable saloon table that lowers, and with the additional cushion, makes up a huge lounging area for movie night or an extra berth. Both aft cabins have double berths, large lockers, and opening ports.
The Corian clad galley has large amounts of storage and a clever built-in tilt-up worktop on the inboard end of the sink counter. There is an extra fridge below the sinks with a stainless-steel front opening door.
The head counter tops are also in Corian. The toilet in the forward owner’s cabin is the quiet freshwater electric Planus unit. The aft head toilet is a manual unit.
The forward owner’s cabin has a large centreline double berth and lots of locker storage.
On deck, in the current Solaris Yachts concept, all control lines lead through line clutches to winches just forward and in reach of the helm. On SOLARIS 47-012, a North Sails “Stack Pack” carries the mainsail and stores the cockpit awning conveniently for easy deployment. A battened North Sails 3Di headsail can be set-up for self-tacking. For lighter winds or some spirited power reaching, SOLARIS 47-012 has the optional genoa tracks on the side decks along with Spinlock high load clutches.
The high aspect 3 spreader silver anodized aluminium mast and boom along with the very complete wardrobe of sails make this Solaris 47 ready to run through any gears the wind dictates.
Offered to co-brokers on a commission split of 50/50.
Our Solaris 47 has been delivering great sailing and cruising experiences for our family in the Eastern Mediterranean waters. She can be easily single handed but with the large cockpit, there is plenty of space for a crew to also get involved in the action while providing comfort at anchor or on a mooring.
Before owning this Solaris 47, we owned a Grand Soleil 43 for 11 years, another Italian beauty where we built the shorthanded sailing experience and confidence with the fast racer/cruiser. After our twins were born, we began looking into new designs around 45ft for safer cockpit, additional space, and storage areas below and above deck without missing competitive fast sailing performance.
Knowing that we did not have many options, we went to the HISWA Boat Show in Amsterdam with another well-known brand in mind but seeing Solaris 47 changed all our plans. We booked a test sailing in Italy. I was very satisfied the way the boat was responding, and my wife was very pleased with the cruising comfort, cockpit area and beautiful flat deck.
We had a very friendly and smooth building experience with the help of great Solaris agents and production division that we dealt with at the Solaris Factory. They answered all our questions, gave a few great suggestions and she was ready to be delivered to our home waters without any delay in production. I personally wanted to deliver the Boat from Aquileia (North of Italy) sailing and cruising in Adriatic and Greek waters. By the time we docked at our marina after more than 1,000 nm, we were sure that we made the right decision.
As it happens with all the new boats, we had some small issues and repairs. Solaris aftersales department was always very positive, responsive, and solved our issues within the guarantee without any additional hassle.
The boat is very well labeled for fresh/sea and grey water hoses and electric cables. All the equipment and materials that are used are industries top quality brands.
As our kids are at the school age, we did not consider a long passage such as Atlantic crossing. Therefore, we specified our boat and picked our additional options for day sailing, coastal long weekend sailing and long summer holidays in the hot Eastern Mediterranean summers.
As we love sailing, we invested in sails (we have 5 different set of bow sails for almost all wind conditions). The boat is very responsive and seaworthy. Her windward ability and speed are very satisfying for a performance cruiser in her range. Her off-wind performance is just as impressive.
We can easily reach all the sheets and halyards that lead to the 4 winches which are positioned in front of the two helms. The distance between the helms and the winches are ideal to reach and work on the winches.
Flat deck enables a perfect front view and easy walk through to the bow for sail changes and anchoring.
Another great thing that we love about our Solaris 47 is her dingy garage as we hate to pull a dingy or carry it on the deck in front of the mast. Our dingy is always in our garage and ready to be used within 5 minutes.
Down below is a standard 3 cabin 2 toilets and a L shape kitchen. We have a retractable saloon table that is a large playground for the kids all summer.
