Broker’s Comments

A beautiful untampered with example of the Sweden Yachts 45. Cherished from the egg and still in her original ownership from 1999. We are particularly fond of these yachts; they combine all that is best about Swedish yacht building in terms of build and fine cabinetry below decks. Powerful yet easily managed rig with fully battened main, self-tacking jib and all controlled by two banks of jammers with an electric winch. Ample deck stowage with three large lazarettes above deck. Below deck she boasts a well-appointed L- shaped galley, 3 double cabins, superb forward facing chart table and spacious saloon. The marquetry on the saloon table indicative of the quality of craftsmanship throughout.

Owner’s Comments

HOTSPUR OF AMBLE was the Stockholm ‘Boat of the Show’ in 2000. She has spent nearly all her life in Sweden and has been stored inside every winter bar one. More recently has been based at Kip Marina on the Clyde and stored at Fairlie Quay in the winter. In winter the boat has been heated and dehumidified continuously. She has been lightly sailed for 3 months each summer by a husband and wife team and has never been raced.

As the owners have decided to stop sailing after 54 years the boat comes with a wealth of ‘spares’, and thus is in sail-away condition.

HOTSPUR OF AMBLE is a registered British ship and is VAT paid.

She is a superb example of her class with a great specification and in sparkling condition.

Builder’s Remarks:

The Sweden Yachts 45 is a quick, seaworthy craft with a sumptuously relaxing interior. The advanced hull design makes her wonderfully easy to sail and manoeuvre. Ample locker space, plenty of hot water, a dream galley, and well-appointed heads make for great onboard living. As well, the cockpit, navigation station, and fittings will delight the most exacting crew. This fast, safe sailing craft originates from the demands made by both the archipelagos with their rapidly changing winds and unpredictable seas, and the heavy weather and imposing waves produced by the mighty North Sea. Responding to the ocean’s demands, the Sweden Yachts 45 provides both safety and sailing performance.
