Ok, Ladies and Gentleman!
Here we have a mighty Swordsman 30, built in 2005, currently in her fifth ownership. This humble yet exciting piece of engineering and innovation is quite simply a work of art. Her low-level lines but sporty looks will turn heads wherever you are. She is powered by the indestructible IVECO 400 series engine giving her an output of 440hp and propelled by the great Hamilton HJ274 waterjet drive system. This offers a number of good advantages over the conventional shafts and propellers such as –
The most sought after boat of the 1960s was undoubtedly a Fairey boat. The list of owner’s sounds like a who’s who, and it was definitely one of the most exciting and innovative decades of British design. Featured in the ever-famous James Bond film “From Russia with Love”.
Alan Burnard’s proven hull design, the Fairey Spearfish, forms the basis of the Swordsman 30 today. She gives stupendous amounts of socialising space in the cockpit with a great lounging area and is quite simply the perfect all-rounder in terms of entertaining. She gives you the ability to power over to the George in Yarmouth for lunch or maybe just a pootle down the Beaulieu River for a picnic. She can do it all. All the while, the soft riding hull will keep the family safe as they sit deep inside the cockpit. The Swordsman 30 is a manageable size that utilizes the space onboard and is rated for eight people offshore, with all amenities required for a day spent on the water.
Regarding construction of the boat, the deck moulding and deep V hull is laminated with isophthalic resin, chopped strand mat and woven rovings – with a foam core stiffening the topsides and deck. All bottom stringers, longitudinal and engine beds are constructed to the same standards as used in the original production Spearfish. Hull to deck is laminated together to provide strength and ensure a watertight joint. Three sets of spray rails are fitted to ensure a dry ride. The large cockpit area is finished in laid teak. Hinges and catches are fitted to the engine hatch and lazarette and are stainless steel, flush fitting with discreet fastenings. Plenty of locker space can be found beneath the cockpit seating. Bucket seats with lift-up bolster for the helmsman and navigator. Laid teak to side decks and foredeck – all teak is solid and bonded to the GRP deck with no visible fastenings. Six substantial custom-made stainless bollards for mooring lines are also in place.
Swordman 30, REVELATION holds great history along with a solid clear chain of title. As always photographs do not do the boat justice so please do not hesitate to book in a viewing.
