The Van de Stadt Samoa is known internationally as a robust and well-conceived design for serious bluewater cruising in aluminium. It has stood the test of time and it provides an excellent foundation. DESTINY was built by these owners with a very full specification and importantly she was built to and is maintained in class to MCA Category 0. This gives her the ability to charter worldwide without limit and means that her systems and fabric are all surveyed and updated very regularly so that the yacht is totally ready for more oceans.
This does not mean that she is not beautiful. DESTINY has a fantastic hard top and lovely Flexi-Teak deck which is also maintenance free and a safe and comfortable cockpit. She is set up for cold water but is equally at home in the tropics.
Her hydraulically operated lift keel gives her huge versatility and she sails powerfully and yet can easily be managed by a modest crew.
Down below her interior is light and airy with lots of curves and lovely joinery. She has a comfortable main saloon and 3 sleeping cabins, 2 of them doubles.
DESTINY has been meticulously maintained and is the perfect platform for a serious cruising programme. She can also charter should this be interesting for you. With her sleek lines and distinctive red livery, the possibilities available to her new owners to sail far are virtually endless.
Destiny was the result of a dream to build a perfect sailing yacht for the high latitudes; with 6 seasons in the Arctic she has proved her designer’s pedigree, builder’s solid construction and to be a delight to own. Simple to sail short handed, comfortable for extended cruising in Summer or the worst of Arctic Winters and above all safe in all conditions.
