The Vindö 65 was introduced in 1980. It was offered in three versions; the 65 S is slop rigged, the 65 Mix is ketch rigged and the 65 MS has a ketch rig and a raised coach roof. Vindö 65 is a solid construction, built to cross any ocean, the hull is made of GRP, it has a full keel with a rudder mounted on the back of the keel. The deck is built in wood and the coachroof has a beautiful mahogany finish.
Vindö 65 X-TRA is a Mix version that was built in 1984 for a German first owner. In 1996 she was bought by a Swedish couple (the current owners) who sailed X-TRA around the world between 1998 and 2002. Thereafter she has been used in Scandinavia, mainly on the Swedish west coast, as a floating summer house. Since 2002, X-TRA has been serviced and stored inside a heated hall during wintertime at Vindö Marin.
The main mast is a hydraulic furling mast and the mizzen mast is manually operated. The two masts were recently updated and repainted (white) and an electric furler for the genoa was installed. The teak deck and the mahogany coachroof are in good condition. The sails have been regularly serviced and are in decent working condition. The well protected centre cockpit has a fixed windscreen with opening mid window and a beautiful wooden steering wheel.
The layout offers an owner’s aft cabin with two berths and plenty of storage space. The linear galley is located directly to starboard of the entrance stair and to port is the navigation table. Aft of the navigation table is storage space for sailing cloth and an additional fridge box. The saloon has two sofas and a foldable table. In front of the mast bulkhead is a forward cabin with a v-berth, the heads compartment, and more storage space.
If you are looking for a well built, beautiful, classic yacht in good general condition you should not miss this well maintained Vindö 65, X-TRA!
