Broker’s Comments

CASCADIA 2 is a Lagoon 560: a standout in the world of luxury cruising catamarans, seamlessly blending performance, comfort, and innovative design. As one of Lagoon’s flagship models, the 560 offers an exceptional platform with the versatility to suit a wide range of sailing ambitions—from coastal cruising to extended bluewater passages.

At 56 feet in length, the Lagoon 560 provides generous space without compromising sailing capability. The flybridge is one of the yacht’s signature features—spacious, well laid-out, and equipped with sun loungers, a helm with full instrumentation, and ample seating for guests to enjoy the journey from an elevated vantage point.

All cabins feature en-suite heads, generous storage, and large hull windows offering natural light and sea views. The owner’s suite is particularly impressive, spanning the entire aft section of the starboard hull, with private access to the aft cockpit—adding a unique level of privacy and exclusivity.

The saloon, with its panoramic windows and open-plan design, creates a light, airy space for relaxing or entertaining. The galley-up layout keeps the chef connected with guests, while still offering professional-grade appliances and extensive counter space. The quality of finishes throughout reflects Lagoon’s commitment to luxury and durability—think rich woods, sleek countertops, and modern lighting.

Under sail, the Lagoon 560 performs admirably for a yacht of its size and comfort level. Its rig is optimised for ease of handling, with a self-tacking jib and electric winches making short-handed sailing entirely feasible. Despite its volume, the 560 sails well in moderate conditions and offers the stability and safety that multihull enthusiasts value. When the wind fades, the twin 110 HP engines provide dependable motoring power, and the yacht’s manoeuvrability is aided by bow thrusters.

In summary, the Lagoon 560 is a premium catamaran that delivers across the board—luxurious accommodation, thoughtful design, and robust performance. Whether you’re looking to explore the Caribbean, Mediterranean, or more remote waters, the 560 provides a stable, stylish, and capable platform for unforgettable adventures at sea.

Only two owners since new; never chartered!

Owner’s Comments

Since 1995, we have continuously owned sailing yachts, upgrading to larger vessels along the way to accommodate our growing family. After cruising the Pacific Northwest on our monohulls for many years, we discovered the beauty of the cruising grounds in the British Virgin Islands. Prior to our time down south, we had never considered purchasing a catamaran. One thing led to another, and we soon found ourselves tearfully saying goodbye to our monohull and purchasing our first cat: a Lagoon 440. We quickly adapted to our new boat and realized how much we loved the space, speed, and comfort of a large catamaran. After spending five seasons on our 440, we decided to seek a larger vessel in order to host our children, their friends, and our friends—all at the same time.

After researching many boat makers, layouts, and performance/comfort/price trade-offs, we decided that the best fit for us was a Lagoon 560. As we began an exhaustive search, we had some very specific “must-haves”:

  • We wanted a boat that had never been chartered.
  • We wanted a boat whose prior owner was committed to ongoing maintenance.
  • We wanted a boat with serious bluewater miles in her logbook.
  • We wanted a boat with a Tenderlift™—the single most enjoyable feature for active cruising!

We found the original CASCADIA in Florida and purchased her a month later. She was everything we had hoped for—and more. We fitted her out with all the bits and bobs to truly make her our second home. Then, out of nowhere, came Irma—the first Category 5 hurricane to ever hit the BVI. Sadly, our second home was a total loss. After coping with the shock of losing her, we began the search for her replacement. It took us a year of looking all around the world to finally find a second 560 that met all of our requirements.

We purchased CASCADIA 2 from the original owner, who kept her moored in front of his home in Turkey. She was in immaculate condition and had been maintained by a private captain exclusively for the owner. We brought her over from Turkey and settled back into our home marina, which was being rebuilt in the BVI.

Since that time, we have spent countless days on our boat, loaded with friends and family, cruising the Caribbean. CASCADIA 2’s overall condition reflects her light, private use (including a forced 18-month hiatus due to COVID) and ongoing professional maintenance. For us, the Lagoon 560 is the perfect blend of a manageable boat—my wife and I can easily sail and dock her doublehanded—that can also host 8–10 people in complete comfort and privacy.

With our large tender and the convenience of the Tenderlift™, we enjoy diving, water skiing, wakeboarding, and, of course, the sunset cocktail cruise before returning to our comfortable home on the water. We have added many upgrades over the years that will be appreciated by experienced boat owners. Whether it’s extra stainless handholds installed for safely moving around the boat in a seaway, or granite counters in the galley to handle multiple hot pans when preparing family dinners, we feel we’ve made a really great boat truly special.

We know the new owners of CASCADIA 2 will experience the same joy of bringing family and friends together while sailing a fantastic yacht.
