Broker’s Comments

Princess Yachts are renowned as “the epitome of British craftsmanship” and stand among the “world leaders in luxury motor yachts”. Every model from the Plymouth shipyard is underpinned by Bernard Olesinski’s famous deep-V hull design, a hallmark of seaworthiness, performance and handling precision that has defined the brand for decades.

The 2004 Princess V42, often referred to by brokers as the Mk1 version, exemplifies this pedigree. It is celebrated for its dry ride, agile handling and a rare balance of speed and comfort. This early configuration comes without the later tender garage, offering instead a spacious aft cockpit with dining area and a large engine hatch, a layout many owners prefer for its generous social space and easy engine access.

Below deck, the layout offers two cabins, a convertible U-shaped saloon, and a single bathroom with separate shower and en suite access from the forward cabin. This is a proven and practical arrangement that keeps this model highly desirable. Powered by twin Volvo Penta D6-310 common rail diesels on DPH Duoprop sterndrives, performance is lively and efficient, with cruising speeds of 24 to 26 knots and a top speed of around 37 knots depending on load.

This particular example has recently been serviced, is fitted with new batteries, and benefits from a new toilet with all black water hoses replaced, plus a new stainless steel blackwater tank. Equipment highlights include a generator, bow thruster, electric windlasses fore and aft, new cockpit canopy, new exterior cushions and covers from 2024, and a new Raymarine plotter and radar. Ready to cast off!
