Contemporary Classic Hoek 82 SWEET EMOTION Is For Sale
May 24th, 2023
Iconic Hoek design made flesh in aluminium by Holland Jachtbouw in 2002, with an automated rig with carbon in-boom furling by Marten, she was conceived and built for owner driver use. She has a fantastic cockpit with all controls at the helm and a large and social living and eating area with solid bimini. She has a spacious deck saloon, and wonderful joinery throughout. She is captivatingly good looking.
You can see a walkthrough video of her here, shot at the recent Palma Superyacht Village event:
SWEET EMOTION is offered fresh from a serious nautical makeover. Work includes the replacement of her teak decks with new swept teak decks at 15mm. When the old decks were removed the aluminium subdeck was totally blasted and recoated. The hull has been repainted in flag blue Awlgrip and the superstructure repainted in Snow White Awlgrip. The rig was on the ground and fully reviewed. The mast section is by Proctor Holland of aluminium and both it and the carbon boom where also repainted in Awlgrip.
The hatches have all been overhauled and her systems have been totally refreshed including a lot of work in the engine room. Powered by a 300hp MAN/Nanni, this too had a major service and the engine room is gleaming. Down below all the soft furnishings – upholstery and carpet have been replaced. The interior woodwork has also had work carried out to it.
SWEET EMOTION is gleaming and is ready to cruise. Far from being a motor sailor, she sails beautifully and is able to pick up and move in even the lightest of zephyrs. For ocean crossing, she is comfortable and provides consistent passage times and in this ownership she has cruised extensively on both sides of the Atlantic with consistent reliability.
SWEET EMOTION has been in this ownership for 13 years and this is her third refit. She has 3 lovely sleeping cabins including a large aft cabin with a double and single and lots of storage. Her guest cabins have generous upper and lower berths and each has its own heads compartment. For this owner she is a family yacht with the crew taking a guest cabin. Her large forward lazarette has a berth and access to the port forward heads and could be altered to a crew cabin. However, the joy of this yacht is that she can also be managed without crew if this is your wish.
