The C&C 38 MkIII is a renowned racer/cruiser designed by Rob Ball and built by C&C Yachts. It is prized for its blend of performance, comfort, and classic lines, and features a spacious interior and excellent sailing characteristics.
EPIPHANY was built in 1986 and was designed primarily for a combination of coastal and offshore sailing. The comfortable and well-appointed interior provides overnight accommodation for up to seven people and has ample storage for long trips. All cushions are in excellent condition and the head and galley are serviced by a 12 volt pressure pump and a hot water tank, which can be heated with 110V AC or by circulating hot water from the engine.
EPIPHANY has been yard maintained at Dodson Boat Yard, which is recognized as one of the best yards on the East Coast, and has benefitted from several upgrades over the past few years, including:
EPIPHANY meets all USCG approved MSD sanitary requirements and has the required USCG safety equipment.
The old adage that the two happiest days in a sailor’s life is when he buys his boat and when he sells it does not apply to me. I have had more happy days on EPIPHANY than I can remember, but after 83 years on this planet, and with deteriorating health, I have come to the realization that it is time to find her a new home. A very sad day…
After sailing and racing a very slow 22ft boat with my family of four all over the northeast coast, my wife and I decided to move up to a larger boat once the kids were off our payroll. We looked for two years and eventually found EPIPHANY.
She was the boat of our dreams and perfectly equipped for both racing and cruising. The only thing we didn’t like was the color of the topsides, so we sailed her to Stonington Harbor, where I knew there was a good yard, and had her painted a beautiful Flag Blue.
EPIPHANY become our much-used second home in Stonington, where she gave us endless views, flexible vacations, and lots of cherished memories. Her cabin is well designed and easy to maintain. Our children, grandchildren, their friends and our friends were able to bunk and relax in comfort.
We enjoyed many cruises to Block Island, Cutty Hunk, Newport, Dutch Harbor, and our annual trips to Nantucket. The galley was fun to work in and we made some very complicated meals for as many as 6 people.
I did not race on a regular basis or as much as I would like for the lack of a die-hard race crew, but she has an impressive performance and can easily hold her own against newer boats. I loved the way she sailed and that I could single hand her through a crowded mooring field easier than with my 22 footer. I always got a thrill, due to her design, to be able to turn her on a dime.
I trust EPIPHANY will bring her next owner many more years of sailing enjoyment.
