HEPHZIBAH is an unusual Tillotson Pearson built J/133 – renowned as one of the best USA yacht builders of the time. She has a very good coastal sailing spec. She is certainly not your average J/133 as she has not been raced.
A very clean and tidy interior, the 2-cabin layout gives plenty of room and a large day heads, with access directly into the huge port side cockpit locker. Although not specified for racing, she does have the Hall Spars carbon mast, and carbon bowsprit, to give plenty of performance and stability for cruising, with less pitch and roll and more comfortable at anchor than her cruising counterparts.
The deck is clean. No teak to worry about, open and safe working areas. She has an additional pair of halyard winches on the coach roof to make shorthanded sailing easy. Autopilot and roller furling make her a very nice shorthanded yacht to sail.
Some wireless instruments make for a low fuss setup and with chart plotter at the nav. station and a clear view in the cockpit, she has all you need for coastal cruising.
Down below, the horseshoe galley on the starboard side is a safe haven at sea, plenty of space and handholds. A top loading fridge lowers energy consumption and a large sink unit are all within arms reach. The saloon area has plenty of room for eight people – the upholstery is in exceptional condition and a tasteful colour for the interior.
The forward berth is very comfortable lots of storage in the cabin, with a clean and fresh heads unit on the starboard side.
The aft cabin on the port side has again, a large amount of storage, full standing headroom, and a large double berth. Access to the engine and plenty of ventilation.
She has been fully serviced for 2020, with the sail drive seal replaced in the spring and engine fully serviced. She really is a lovely performance yacht to make tracks for the beautiful 2020 summer.
