As February draws to a close, we look forward to spring next month, and the new sailing season is also upon us. We have been very busy bringing new yachts to the market, as well as with yacht viewings and sales. Berthon Scandinavia attended the Sail Expo Göteborg at the end of the month, and with April just around the corner, preparations for the Palma International Boat Show are underway. As the recently appointed dealer for Solaris Yachts in the Balearics, we will be showing a Solaris 50 and Solaris 64 RS at the show (29 April to 2 May). We are supporting and marketing Solaris Yachts from the Berthon International Spain sales office in Palma, on the waterfront.
Our 2026 Market Report is taking shape and will be published at Easter. It covers the global yacht market, while exploring the key issues shaping the industry today, including an update from PKF on the VAT treatment of yachts in the UK and elsewhere, the role of AI in transforming yachting, changes regarding who is eligible for the British flag, and Berthon’s strategies for communicating effectively in today’s digital world. It also includes the Berthon Forecast for 2026, where we attempt to predict what the year ahead holds for our industry and the sport.
Early February saw the launch of our new website, Berthon Essential (^ header image pictured above). This dedicated international brokerage platform from the Berthon Sales Group has been designed to make the sale of smaller boats clearer, more efficient, and better supported, while delivering the same expertise, care, and personal service for which Berthon is known.
