Classic Hoek 82 SWEET EMOTION is the product of Dutch design and build at its best. Her teak joinery is beautifully crafted throughout, and she is full of subtle and clever details which are a hallmark of her designer and builder. They also speak to the wishes of her original owners, who commissioned a yacht for easy, powerful, and shorthanded sailing aboard a platform for living well. Her powerful hull shape eats miles, and her comfortable cockpit and enclosed deck saloon offer great spaces for crew and guests, either in port or at sea. The deck saloon is an excellent solution for watchkeeping in open sea, reducing fatigue and increasing wellbeing.

She has a cathedral-like lower saloon and comfortable and spacious accommodation in three cabins for owners and guests.

SWEET EMOTION has sailed extensively in Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, with numerous transatlantics as well as to the East Coast of the USA to Nova Scotia. During this period, she has been in the same ownership, and in return for this wonderful cruising, her owner has taken care of her with a continuous programme of renewal and updates.

There have also been major refit periods in 2011, 2016 and 2023. The last refit included new hull and superstructure paint, new teak decks, sails, rig repaint and full service of the Rondal hatches, interior furnishings and varnish, rebuild of the main engine, new bimini and much more.

In 2025/26, the retractable bowthruster was removed from the yacht and returned to the manufacturers, Hydromar, for full refurbishment. The hydraulic power bank has just been replaced, and she has had paintwork repairs as well as a full spring fit-out. This has been accomplished to ensure that she is fully plug and play, even though circumstances dictate that SWEET EMOTION will be unused (although she will continue to be maintained by her crew) this season.

Back on the market at a much-reduced price, SWEET EMOTION has never looked better and must be used. Please ask us for further information about this special yacht.

Owner’s Comments

SWEET EMOTION has been in this ownership for 15 years, with the same Captain, and during this time she has sailed far.

SWEET EMOTION has sailed most of Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. She has completed numerous transatlantics, and she has been in use from January to March in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, crossing the Atlantic for a summer programme in Europe. She has also cruised the East Coast of America up to Nova Scotia, including a magical sail into New York Yacht Club on the 4th of July.

SWEET EMOTION has had significant refit periods in this ownership in 2011 and 2016. In the winter of 2022/23, she had a further significant refit, including lovely new teak decks and rig overhaul. Over winter 2025/26, and the work programme is ongoing. SWEET EMOTION has now completed her full spring fit-out and she is ready to sail.

SWEET EMOTION is unique and without a doubt a head-turner. When under sail she glides through the water, and it is incredibly tranquil. Her sailing performance exceeds what one would suspect from her looks. She is no motor sailor. In this ownership she has made all her passages under sail and has proven herself, delivering fast and reliable passage times. Her captain, who has been aboard SWEET EMOTION for 15 years, is still in awe of her performance under sail in all weathers. She sails upwind in the lightest of airs and will also ride out heavy weather in safety and comfort. Further, she is a very comfortable yacht, and it has been easy to spend months on her at a time.

SWEET EMOTION has no cruising programme for this year, but despite this she has been fully prepared, with the idea in mind that her new owner can enjoy the new season aboard her without fuss. She is being sold by her late owner’s executors, and the price has been set at a level which reflects the wish to achieve a straightforward and timely sale.
