The Najad 511, designed by Judel/Vrolijk & Co, is a fast yet comfortable bluewater cruising yacht. With her fine, elegant bow, deep bilge, bolted lead keel and skeg-hung rudder, she combines strong performance with excellent seakeeping and confidence offshore. This is a true mile muncher – a yacht designed to cross oceans in safety, comfort and classic Najad quality.
Najad 511, ZERO is not just another example of this respected model. She was the second Najad 511 built for her first owner and was specifically constructed to comply with MCA Category Zero, the highest standard for worldwide, unrestricted charter operations (although she has not been used for charter).
ZERO is a proven bluewater cruiser that has been meticulously maintained since new, with regular servicing, continuous upgrades and thoughtful improvements throughout her life. The current, second owner acquired the yacht in 2022, sailed her in Scandinavian waters and has continued to invest in further upgrades, ensuring she is fully prepared for long-distance cruising and new adventures.
Sail handling has been carefully designed to be simple and efficient, making the yacht ideal for a small crew. She is equipped with electric in-mast furling, two electric furling headsails, five electric winches and hydraulic boom vang and backstay, all operated from the cockpit. Under sail, ZERO is smooth, balanced and very easy to manage.
Below deck, the mahogany interior is both practical and inviting. The owner’s aft cabin features a private en-suite head with shower. The layout includes a longitudinal galley, a dedicated navigation station and a comfortable saloon with a sofa and two armchairs – an ideal space to relax after a long day at sea. Forward of the main bulkhead, which is laminated to both hull and deck for added structural strength, are two guest cabins, one with a V-berth and one with bunk beds, along with a guest head and shower. Currently the upper bunk berth is used for spare part storage, but can easily be converted to a berth if preferred.
For sailors seeking a yacht in mint condition for its age, that requires no further investment and is fully ready for a 2026 sailing season, ZERO is well worth inspection.
