This is an unusual find! A Swan 56, one owner from new, with a white hull, regatta keel, and masthead offshore Spars carbon seamless tapered rig. Fitted with a PARK AVENUE boom (with five-yearly checks) and maintained to MCA Cat 2 standards (never chartered). She features the preferred centre-line aft cabin layout and an impeccable interior – MAGICAL is clearly a well-loved member of a very keen sailing family, and it shows throughout.
Ashore each winter under full cover, the owner has diligently maintained all annual and five-yearly MCA Cat 2 checks (same surveyor since new), ensuring the yacht is always up to date and provides safe, trouble-free sailing for family and friends. While she enjoyed some racing in her early years, since 2010 she has been used exclusively for cruising.
MAGICAL is thoroughly up to date in both condition and equipment. Now winterised ashore, she is ready to sail with normal annual commissioning.
In 1998 we decided to purchase a new Swan and chose the 56 as it fitted with 3 children, all of whom raced sailing dinghies internationally.
From September 1998 to July 1999 we visited Pietarsaari, Finland regularly and having chosen our Skipper had him stay Pietarsaari for the final 3 months of the build.
We raced MAGICAL up to 2009 when we purchased a Swan 42 for global events and MAGICAL stayed in cruising mode.
We pride ourselves that MAGICAL is in excellent condition and when required, we replace it. We now have four grandchildren who are starting their racing so our time to use MAGICAL is becoming more restricted hence the difficult decision to sell her to an owner who will take good care of her.
