Spirit Yachts is a renowned British shipyard based in Suffolk, England, celebrated for crafting stunning “modern classic” wooden sail and power yachts. Founded in 1993 by Sean McMillan and Mick Newman, the company rose to global prominence by blending timeless 1930s-inspired aesthetics—long overhangs, low freeboard, graceful mahogany finishes—with cutting-edge underbodies and sustainable construction.

Craftsmanship is at the heart of every Spirit yacht—each hull is cold-moulded in hand-selected, sustainable timber, epoxy-sealed, and finished with exquisite cabinetry and joinery.
The bespoke design process is highly collaborative, with owners involved from concept sketches through to launch.

OUI FLING is a one-off Spirit 52D—a stripped-back, race-focused version of Spirit Yachts’ classic 52-foot model, built in 2017.

Conceived as a “distilled” modern classic, she features sleek flush decks, a lightweight wood-epoxy hull with exposed sapele frames and yellow cedar planking, and high-modulus carbon appendages and rigging—while carrying almost no interior beyond essential berths and a toilet. Painted in elegant Jade Mist Green (in homage to Shamrock V), OUI FLING slips through the water beautifully, tipping the scales at under 7 tonnes—around two tonnes lighter than her sister ships. She debuted at Cowes in 2017 and went on to dominate Panerai British Classic Week, also earning overall victory in 2021.

Designed for high-performance tactical racing in and around the Solent, her cockpit is optimised for professional crews. Her double-diagonal hull, carbon keel and rudder, electric winches, and Grand Prix sail controls reflect an uncompromising dedication to speed and elegance.

She has seen many improvements throughout her career and, most recently, has had her deck layout cleaned up with some superb sail-handling systems. Below deck, she now resembles a Dragon or Etchells class yacht more than a classic cruiser. She is absolutely ready for her next owner to step aboard, is in exceptional condition, and available at a fraction of her replacement cost.
