The Sweden 45 is known for being a quality Swedish-built fast cruiser renowned for combining exciting speeds and sailing efficiency without compromising on comfort; a truly elegant yacht that’s known for turning heads, and this Sweden 45 is no exception.

SONGLINE is in her first ownership still and in very good condition. In 2020/2021, she underwent a major refit at Fox’s Yard that included new teak throughout on deck, replacement of rod rigging, repainting of the carbon mast and boom, installation of a new electric windlass, and more. Her sailing plan is impressive with many sails to play with, including three Gennekers and a new main & jib, which will get you places quickly when needed.

Below deck, her excellent condition continues. The spacious owner’s cabin is forward with a double berth to port and plenty of storage for those long journeys. An enclosed bright, private head is also forward for the owners, with a separate shower.

Moving aft, to port, is the large saloon with a U-shaped sofa, a mahogany table with room for six for dinner, and bottle storage below. Cupboards with more storage surround the saloon. The large navigation area with desktop, seat, numerous cupboards, drawers, and storage areas is found to starboard.

The L-shaped galley to starboard has Corian countertops, a fridge and freezer area. The galley has a gas 3-burner stove top with an oven and plenty of storage spaces in cupboards, drawers, and dry storage areas.

Aft, to port and starboard, you will find two guest cabins with double berths, pocket spring mattresses, spacious cupboards, and storage. Easily accessible from the entrance and guest cabins is a second head/shower, which is also a perfect wet locker.

The owner has done extensive sailing since her launch, including an Atlantic circuit, Mediterranean, and participating in many Solent races, and throughout this time, she has been the perfect yacht. With her recent updates, SONGLINE is ready to set sail, and a viewing is highly recommended.

Owner’s Comments

With an Atlantic crossing in mind, I chose the Sweden Yachts 45 after several years of research and have never regretted my choice in my 20 years of ownership. Indeed, I have never spotted another design that would have persuaded me to change.

SONGLINE has carried me for nearly 40,000 nautical miles over oceans and seas, including an Atlantic circuit and four years circumnavigating the Mediterranean. During that time, I have never doubted the boat’s capability to get me and my crew home safely (and usually comfortably) in all sorts of weather conditions.

She is a fast cruising boat, and when I do the annual Round the Island Race with a scratch crew of friends, we always manage to finish in the top 10% of the entry for Group 4 (typically 120-150 boats). With no special preparation, I have raced her in two-handed events, and after a couple of years learning the ropes, we took five of the Royal Southampton’s trophies in their Two-handed series.

SONGLINE has played a major role in my life, and selling the boat will be a significant loss to me. I would not be doing so were it not for personal reasons not related to sailing that make my continuing to sail inadvisable.
