The 39 Camira is also an excellent choice for those seeking the capability of a 40-foot hull without the unnecessary volume of a traditional cruiser. She is a true mile-eater, equally at home blasting across the English Channel for lunch or heading down to the West Country or across to Ireland for the weekend. Accommodation includes two comfortable, well-designed, and beautifully finished cabins, with ample storage and a Light Oak interior. The spacious shower compartment, with Esthec flooring, is flooded with natural light, and the lower galley is fitted with a microwave, sink, fridge, and even original chopping boards.

The cockpit is sensational, featuring a safe, well-protected layout, a sun pad aft atop a useful tender garage, and a superb forward driving position. When the weather turns, the new-generation canopy system is a huge advantage, easily folding into position with final tensioning at the touch of a button. The canopy can even be used at speed, transforming the cockpit into a truly all-weather space.

VOLANTE OF ADRIANO has been owned from new by an experienced yachtsman who has prized the unmatched seakeeping and performance of the deep-V Windy hull. This isn’t a boat for most people. This is a boat for a select few who don’t want to compromise, who don’t want a holiday home or a waterside apartment or a beach hut or a sun patio or a deckchair. And who don’t confuse cost with value. They’ll pay more and they’ll get less, because this is a boat for the select few who “get it.” And what they get is one of the best finished, most focused, and greatest
handling 40ft driving machines on the water.

If you’ve read this review from the beginning, you have probably concluded that I like this boat.

But you’d be wrong. I like iPhones, ‘Top Gear,’ pub lunches and Nikon camera equipment.

No, I don’t like the Camira, I love the Camira.

I love the way it looks, the way it handles; I love the quality, the precision, the attention to detail. I love tearing up the water in it at 40 knots; I love the way it slices a ferry wake; I love how it corners on (spray) rails, and I love its effortless long-legged, distance-shrinking performance. But above all I love the way it makes me feel – like a happy dog with its head out of the car window.
