The fabulous SR44 follows Windy’s 2010 launch of the chase boat – the Windy SR52 Blackbird – and recent expertise in delivering custom tenders to some of the largest yachts in the world. Such ability is rare in a production builder, yet Windy can, and does – with the SR44 embodying the 52’s traits of exceptional sea-keeping, long range, peerless finish, and unmatched performance. Thus, the 44 has an extensive list of options, enabling a truly unique look and feel to be achieved for this design, which blurs the distinctions between family sports boat, chase boat, and supertender.

With her striking good looks, walk around decks, and central console, the 44 shares much of the same DNA as her bigger sister. Her cockpit not only provides a garage and ample sun pad and seating areas but also features a protected on-deck galley under the shelter of her T-top, with excellent storage space and machinery access. Power comes from Volvo Penta’s D6/440 outdrives driving the sensational new DPI hydraulic gearboxes, delivering 40+ knot performance and an exceptionally smooth, unflustered ride from her deep-vee profile. With a central helm position ensuring maximum driver engagement, the 44 carves effortlessly through the water, and the super-stiff, resin-infused hull section provides a predictable, safe ride through rough waters.

Powered by Volvo Penta’s sensationally smooth and strong D6/440DPI engines, she has a very complete specification, to include the godsend of joystick docking, 20K BTU air-conditioning, and an aft bimini for shade, a hydraulic bathing platform for easy tender launching and full teak decking.
