2026 has brought with it masses of activity across all our territories. For January in our industry, boot Düsseldorf dominated. The Berthon team from the UK, Sweden, and USA offices were there representing Solaris Yachts and Solaris Power, and Moody Yachts. Alan Baines and Peter Houghton of Berthon USA were named the top US Moody dealer for 2025 at the Hanse dealer meeting in Düsseldorf, where a client-owned Moody Decksaloon 41 with a beautifully coordinated grey-and-teak interior and exterior was showcased. In a European winter, the Düsseldorf show offers clients a valuable opportunity to compare the market under a series of dry and warm roofs.
We were also delighted to welcome Tim Carbury (^ pictured above) to the Berthon family at the beginning of January as Head of Sales for Berthon International Yacht Sales in Spain. Tim brings a wealth of industry experience and strengthens our sales presence in this important international marketplace.
Work is now underway on our annual Berthon Market Report, due for release in the spring. The report will review 2025, provide insights into the upcoming sailing and yachting season, and examine ongoing market challenges, including an update on the VAT situation in Europe.
