ATTITUDE OF LONDON is a stunning aluminium yacht, built by Martlan Yachts and designed by Grant Firth. Fitted out by MB Yachts in 1998 for the current owner, she is built for bluewater sailing and would easily carry sailors around the world without fuss. The current owners have certainly enjoyed many years sailing on the high seas.

On deck, she features a cutter rig and two cockpits, providing good protection for both, with a full cockpit tent offering excellent shelter. Down below, there is an easily accessible U-shaped galley to port with plenty of storage. To starboard, there is a chart table, and further forward, the saloon offers comfortable seating for eight with a folding table, plus three pilot berths. The forward cabin has a double berth to starboard, and there is a further double berth aft.

Aluminium yachts have always been a popular choice, and ATTITUDE OF LONDON will offer new owners a well-built yacht that is ready to sail.

25 years ago, we were sipping rum punches, having made the 2,700-mile crossing from Las Palmas in the Canaries to Rodney Bay in St Lucia. We had embarked on the ultimate family adventure

ATTITUDE OF LONDON proved to be the most trusted of yachts, not just for our bluewater sailing odyssey but for the many voyages we have had aboard her. She has braved three oceans, survived high seas, and transited the tricky Panama Canal.

Made of aluminium, ATTITUDE is strong and built to last. She is now back where she started, on the South Coast of England, looking for a new owner to sail her. As a one-design, dark-blue, sleek yacht, she attracts admirers wherever she sails. While we are sad to say goodbye to our trusted boat, it is time for us to hang up our caps and move on.

We have so many stories to tell. During our travels, we encountered an array of remarkable experiences aboard ATTITUDE, from spotting right whales under her hull on sonar to surfing ten-metre seas through the Aruba Gap to the soundtrack of “Take the Weather With You.” We faced the twin challenges of navigating Panama’s crocodile-infested waters and the Gatun Locks, where prop wash from a massive bulk carrier nearly broke our lines. Highlights included catching a 14-kilo Wahoo in Nuku-Hiva, witnessing a mother and baby humpback breaching in Tonga, and anchoring off secluded cays on the Barrier Reef while negotiating tricky ‘bombies’.

Closer to home ATTITUDE has spent time cruising the crystal waters of Turkey, island hopping in Greece, exploring the volcanic islands of Sicily, the Rias Baixas of Spain, the Raz de Sein passage in Brittany, the Bay of Biscay, the tidal flows of the Bristol Channel, the Fastnet Rock and the Scilly Isles archipelago.
