When it comes to pilothouse/deck saloon yachts under 15m, your choices are limited to a small number of very good builders. Regina of Vindö Yachts was a Swedish builder founded in 1972 on the island of Orust. The yard was known for producing high-quality, semi-custom deck saloon yachts with a focus on seaworthiness, comfort, and Scandinavian design principles. The Regina 43 is a superb yacht, offering not only a bright, airy, and beautifully crafted interior, but also immense capability for offshore and bluewater cruising.

ARKYLA we have the privilege of knowing quite well the current owner purchased her through us in 2018. She was a berth holder here in our marina for a couple of seasons while the owners readied her and relinquished their work ties in readiness for their departure. The yacht was significantly updated prior to her departure and has enjoyed thorough maintenance during her adventures.

Owner’s Comments

We bought ARKYLA in 2018 and refitted her with new electronics, new sails, and renewable power sources. After initially keeping her in the Solent, we moved her to Cherbourg for Brexit to retain both her EU and UK VAT status – she can be sold with either. In 2022, we sailed her across Biscay and to the Algarve where she had a season before entering the Med in 2023. She underwent another set of blue-water upgrades to prepare her for an East-to-West Atlantic crossing in 2024. After 2 seasons in the Caribbean, I have just sailed her back via the Azores ready for a new owner to continue her life of adventures. ARKYLA has often been featured in the yachting press, and has been the cover girl for Yachting Monthly, Attitudes & Latitudes, and Cruising magazines. She draws attention wherever she pulls in.
