TRUMPETER, a Contest 44CS from 2002 by the renowned Dutch yard Conyplex and Georg Nissen.
Contest Yachts was founded in 1959, by Ed Conijn, and they have been at the forefront of innovative cruising yacht design for decades and we have always regarded them as builder of premier bluewater yachts.
TRUMPETER is still in her original ownership from new and is well loved. Owned by an experienced yachting family, they have been careful to keep her up to scratch with a programme of continuous maintenance and upgrade throughout her life. Recent standing rigging, sails, batteries and scheduled maintenance kept up to date on all of her primary systems.

A well-equipped comfortable and capable cruising yacht – she sports all the prerequisites for offshore and bluewater cruising. Cutter headed rig, watermaker, generator, air-conditioning for hotter climes and diesel hot air heating for the cooler climes, a comprehensive Raymarine electronics package (new wide screen plotter/radar 2015), recent canvas work, sprayhood and bimini and all the associated kit and caboodle.
Above deck TRUMPETER has a cutter headed masthead rig, furling genoa and staysail and a conventional slab reefed fully battened main (main and genoa by Quantum sails) and electric primary winches to take the strain of sail handling. Her fore deck sail locker and two ample lazerettes allow for plenty for deck stowage, whilst the large aft deck, with the drop down pushpit seats, creates a spacious area for relaxing.
Below decks, she is finished throughout in teak with a teak and holly cabin sole. She sports two well-appointed cabins that are both en-suite, a bright airy saloon, benefitting from the lots natural light from the saloon windows, and an amply equipped spacious linear galley.
Recently returned from the Mediterranean – TRUMPETER has a fully winterised engine, generator and plumbing, and is laid up ashore (with a full cover) at our offices here in Lymington. She is now ready to take to the water next season. Grandchildren and a desire to move to motor yachting have prompted her sale.
