March 20th, 2020
Dixon 73, LA LUNA was built in 2008 for serious, comfortable bluewater cruising by King Marine, for this owner, to RINA and MCA. She is of composite so she is light, fast and super strong. She comes with an epic deck saloon and fantastic Hall carbon spar and in-boom furling. She has lovely teak decks with flush hatches and twin wheels. She is perfect for family cruising and there is ample room for crew as you wish.

Down below, she has one of the best interior layouts that we have seen on a yacht of this size. The owners’ stateroom is aft and the interior is executed in beech, which is light and airy. There is stainless steel trim throughout the interior, which combines with the wood to look terrific.
There is a large double berth, 2 sofas and lots and lots of storage and wardrobes. The owners have a fantastic en-suite heads with separated shower.
Walking forward, there is a VIP cabin to port and a generous upper and lower to starboard. There is another big heads for these two cabins. There is masses of headroom and good natural ventilation although of course she has full air-conditioning throughout.
The engine room reveals a Steyr main engine and Northern Lights genset and all the services are found here.
Forward of the main saloon there are steps down to a lovely lower seating area that is opposite a vast galley with good work surfaces, lots of refrigeration and storage. It is perfectly designed for working at both in port and at sea and is well thought out.
Another heads with separated shower is forward to starboard for the forward cabin. This is also useful as a day head.
The forward cabin is vast with a double and a sofa/single bunk, loads of storage and ladder access onto the deck. Designed as palatial quarters for crew it is also great as a third large double cabin for family use.
LA LUNA has sailed far with this owner, who had her built. Having happy crew were important hence the forward cabin. She has been refreshed through life and looks super contemporary today.
Her owners’ plans have changed and she will not be used this season. She must be sold, and for this reason the price has been dropped to the current level. LA LUNA now needs some TLC for her next world trip and the price reflects this.
