October 16th, 2018
As the leaves turn golden and prepare to fall and the nights shorten, yachtsmen are enjoying their final sails of the season before decommissioning for the winter. For some the Caribs beckon but for most, their sailing shoes and kit are destined for the wardrobe until next summer.
However, in the Southern hemisphere, spring is in the air and the season is just starting. A vast cruising ground; the distances are not trivial. To enjoy this area to the full, water line length and a power cruising yacht is what is needed.
PACIFIC EAGLE is a 28m Don Brooke motor sailor with a superb pilothouse and great accommodation. She has proved herself to be perfect for the waters of the Pacific and has the advantage of twin engines, split rig and moderate draft giving her huge versatility.
Her current owner sails her himself without crew and finds her manageable and responsive. She is fully commercially coded and if crew are an imperative, there is plenty of separate room for them.
She has massive volume and refrigeration a huge fuel range and has proven to be self-sufficient for up to 6 months at a time.
On deck she is easily handled.
She draws only 2.7m.
The perfect platform for exploring the massive Pacific Ocean – here are some of the places where this magic carpet could take you to; all of New Zealand’s magnificent cruising areas such as Fiorland National Park, The Marlborough Sounds and The Bay of Islands. You can then island-hop to the tropical Islands of Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Then it is on to Australia and the world.
