The word STREGATA means bewitching in Italian and she certainly is that. Grand Soleils are known for their sailing performance and she is a serious performance cruiser. At 50ft, Grand Soleil 50 STREGATA has a great balance of spacious accommodation yet the legs to get places quickly. Her current owner has cared for her very well and has spared no expense on updates in the last few years.

Her current owner bought her through Berthon in 2016 and she was lying in her home land of Italy. She spent some time in the Med before coming back to the crystal clear waters of the Solent. In this current ownership, she has benefitted from ongoing preventative maintenance. Her engine was replaced in 2019 for peace of mind; she has a 75hp Volvo Penta, which has a grand total of 50 hours on the clock at time of writing. This is a big tick box item for any new owner along with sail drive diaphragm, standing rigging and navigation gear which have all been replaced in the last year.
Unbelievably the list does carry on and more details of works carried out can be found in her specification.
With all these updates, she is ready to head off sailing (when current World affairs allow of course). Judel & Vrolijk design speaks for itself and they are known for designing fantastic performance cruisers. She oozes speed with classic Italian lines and yachting reviews are proof of the fantastic sailing performance the 50 offers.
Below decks she has a beautiful fit out and provides very comfortable living on board. Forward master cabin with island berth and large en-suite. She even boasts two fridges!
She has proved herself as a very comfortable weekend cruising yacht in this ownership but certainly has the legs to be a fantastic bluewater cruiser. Therefore, she really does offer the best of both worlds and certainly provides quick, rewarding and comfortable sailing.
