CHERUBINO is a modern build based on the very classic lines of the Holman and Pye designed Bowman 49. You’ll find CHERUBINO’s lines have been extended to 53 foot, creating a truly handsome ketch. One of a pair, this Holman and Pye 53 from 1999/2000 saw only light local use with her first owner. Purchased by her current owners in 2017 the yacht underwent a brief pit stop for updating on systems, standing rigging and a new suit of Quantum sails. 2018 saw CHERUBINO depart for a quick jaunt around the Atlantic with a family of four aboard.
Now captured on film for you to enjoy, you can watch the video here:-
On deck CHERUBINO has clean uncluttered lines with a straightforward and easily managed cutter headed ketch rig. This all makes for a very user friendly blue water set up. Her huge well protected cockpit gives plenty of deck stowage and the extended transom not only provides some rather comfy deck space but equally allows for the addition of a large, very useful, deck locker.
Below deck CHERUBINO is beautifully finished in teak with lots of solid trim by way of fiddles and handholds, light Alcantara style upholstery, new cabin sole laid in Iroko in 2018. There is plenty of room with three cabins, two w/c showers, a long linear galley leading aft and good sized forward facing navigation area. She fairly and squarely falls within that category of what we would call a “proper yacht”.
Having delivered the family safely around the Atlantic it’s now back to work and school! A joy to sail, CHERUBINO is straining on her mooring lines ready, for her next adventurous custodians to sail away with her.
