JANIQUE III, a lovely Moody 45 Classic aft cockpit, currently stored on land at Safeharbor – Stratford Marine in Stratford, CT – USA.
Our office met her owner at a boat show on board a sistership Moody 45 and he fell in love with the design, and of course, named the yacht after his daughters, combining their names (smart guy). This is a yacht that no matter when you show up to see her, she is immaculate, down to the bilges.

In spite of being used for family sailing since new, her woodwork is unblemished and gleaming.
Three double cabins, owner is forward, and two heads, one with shower, so very comfortable for sailing with friends. There is plenty of storage and hanging lockers, and with the rattan locker faces, air flows through these spaces helping with ventilation, and air conditioning as well.
Her self-tacking jib with the additional forestay, electric primaries, and flexiteak decks equal minimal maintenance.
Huge single cockpit, with a custom cockpit table on centerline, which also works well for support! The transom is manually lowered for use as boarding or a swim platform, and her keel depth does not preclude entry to many harbours and/or anchorages. The chart plotter is top of the line and quite necessary with the fog banks in this part of the world.
Her owner’s plans have changed and they are now looking to purchase or purchase/restore a down-east lobster boat and cruise the inlets and shallow spots. Although this owner has mainly used the yacht between New York and Newport, many other Moody 45s have done long range cruising so no matter what your plans, JANIQUE III can handle it.
