The Nicholson 476 series of bluewater cruising yachts were built at the height of the fame of Camper & Nicholsons in Gosport. Their sweet lines from David Pedrick and immaculate build quality make them very special and capable yachts today.
SOLENT LADY was launched in 1985 and she is only now in her third ownership. Her interior is in immaculate condition and shows very little wear. The hand crafted joinery and great build is not something seen today. She has a large owners’ stateroom, practical linear galley, good aft facing chart table and a large main saloon. The port side has a dining table and u-shaped seating area, which can be converted to make a double berth, and a long seat to starboard is a great sea berth if needed. There is a large double (or 2 single berths) forward with a basin and a second heads compartment which is also the day heads. There is also masses of storage.
To have a look at SOLENT LADY you can view this walk through video:
She comes with a Perkins 4236hp main engine and HFL generator both of which have been cherished and which have low hours. The side windows in the main saloon have been replaced.
On deck, she has a Rondal hydraulic furling rig which makes sailing short handed very easy to manage and her teak deck was replaced in Portugal in 2012 and it looks terrific. Her original gelcoat both on the hull and superstructure is in super shape.
SOLENT LADY looks good from every angle and has timeless good looks that will never be out of style. She offers powerful and relaxed sailing as well as good accommodation for her size. She is the perfect platform for her new owners to update as they wish with new electronics, standing rigging and AV to fit her for new adventures.
SOLENT LADY is compact enough for local cruising and is a size which makes her welcome in local ports. She also has the capability for crossing oceans and indeed many of her sisters have sailed far.
