Norway beckons in June/July for FPB 78-002, GREY WOLF II
May 23rd, 2023
Continuing her progress north, the second stage of FPB 78-002, GREY WOLF II’s summer programme sees her heading for Norway for June and July. She will be available for charter during this period. It is magical place of cetaceans and of course the extraordinary Northern Lights.
For GREY WOLF II and her crew – the following programme awaits –
Day 1 – TROMSØ
This is all about the amazing wild life. You will be able to see it at its best from GREY WOLF II’s Great Room or on the Matrix deck – both of which will have all round vision. A well-known destination for searching out the Northern Lights, it is worth making the 1,200 step climb on the Sherpa staircase, or there is also a cable car that carries you to the top of Mount Storsteinen, where you have panoramic views.
Day 2 – NORD-LENANGEN
Passing through the very best location to spot whales close to Tromsø. Whales love it here – with the deep water upwellings of plankton and squid. You will have a great chance to see sea eagles, puffins, seals, minke, humpback and sperm whales and porpoises. From Nord-Lenangen you will see the amazing Lyngen Alps.
Day 3 – ULØYA
More marine life is on the agenda, next stop Uløya in New Finland. Whilst steaming to this remote island there will be whales to see for sure. Uløya is untouched, with lots of hiking trails and 3 famous peaks – Uloytinden, Kjelvagtinden, and Blåtinden. A big hike but if you make it you will see crystal clear lakes and cascading waterfalls, grey seal, white tailed eagles and their golden cousins, as well as wolverine and lynx. All that and back to the comfort of GREY WOLF II.
Day 4 – SKJERVØY
The final stop before heading back to Tromsø is Skjervøy, a fishing village, and on the way you will see the Lyngen Alps and the deep blue water of the fjords. In the heart of the Northern Troms – it’s a great place for whale watching as well as puffins, sea eagles and even elk.
