Oyster 575 DREAMER OF HAMBLE – On Video and for Sale
November 9th, 2021
From 2010 comes a grand prix bluewater Oyster 575 from Oyster Marine Ltd. and Rob Humphreys – DREAMER OF HAMBLE is still in her original ownership. Her condition is quite exceptional for her year. Her teak interior is virtually faultless and she gleams on deck.
With the customary Oyster 575 layout – she has four cabins including a large owners’ stateroom, VIP cabin forward and two generous upper and lower berth cabins.
Note: Keen observers of this walkthrough may wonder about the cockpit table and if it is refrigerated – the answer is yes! In addition, the location of the washer dryer – it can be found in the galley.
Her Formula spar has a triple spread arrangement with white painted spars, and a prodder. The sails from Dolphin are barely out of the bag and she comes with a spinnaker and asymmetric. She has Reckmann furling forward and a fully automated rig that is powered by a Lewmar 400 Commander power pack.
COVID-19 has seen DREAMER OF HAMBLE out of use, but this summer she was relaunched, with new batteries fitted as well as updates to her Raymarine and a host of small updates carried out to bring her back into a good working condition. She has also been valeted, polished and cherished so she is looking amazing and all her systems have been properly put to bed. She even has a fresh cost of antifoul.
Equipped for bluewater, she has a generator, watermaker, air conditioning, big refrigeration, powered davits and a 3.5m Avon RIB with 15hp outboard. She also comes with Sailor BGAN, on-board WiFi, SSB and on-board computer.
She has cruised in the Caribbean in great comfort and without a large crew. She has proven herself to be easily handled and her owner has sailed her extensively singlehanded.
She achieves fast passage times and easily averages 250 nautical miles a day when crossing oceans.
Although she has not been raced very often, when she has been, she has won! Here is the race list –
2011 – ARC. First in Class A and also Oyster Trophy.
2012 – ARC. First in Class A.
2013 – Overall Winner of Oyster Caribbean Regatta.
Carefully maintained through life she has also been sparingly used – including being out of commission for the past 2 years. Her generator has less than 3,000 hours!
Originally a cancelled order, this owner bought her as a hull as he was in a hurry to go sailing and Oyster completed her alongside hull #8. Because she had only just been started he had the opportunity to equip her to his wish for northern and tropical waters.
Oyster 575 DREAMER OF HAMBLE is only being offered for sale, as with a growing family, a motor yacht for local use is now a better solution. At the moment this owner lacks the time to cross oceans and to enjoy the bluewater lifestyle made possible by this special yacht.
