The Captivating Spirit 65 Deck House SPIRIT OF JOSEPHINE is for sale…
May 16th, 2022
She first splashed in 2021, and her maiden overnight voyage was from the East Coast of the UK to our base in Lymington on the Solent. To say that she turns heads is an understatement. A combination of outstanding build quality and design from Spirit Yachts and a very detailed specification to deliver a planet friendly yacht with an extraordinary interior, has been successfully and beautifully orchestrated.
SPIRIT OF JOSEPHINE is powered by twin Oceanvolt electric drives that regenerate her 21kW of Lithium Vallance batteries. She has a Fischer Panda generator as a back-up. Her sails built by OneSails are of 4T FORTE recyclable cloth and her decks are of Ligne which are sustainable, easy to maintain and very beautiful. Enormous thought has gone into providing a 21st century solution to her electrical system, making it efficient yet capable of delivering all the services needed on a comfortable, family cruising yacht of 65 feet.
She must be seen, as words cannot properly describe this special interior. We have had a go at videoing her here –
Her interior is finished in walnut and is extraordinary. You enter her deckhouse to find a comfortable seating area with a sea berth and interior chart/watch keeping area. The helm seat is based on the seat design found in the Aston Martin DB5. All the fabrics and upholstery are by Tetrad in bark leather and Harris Tweed.
The main saloon is a totally special place with a large zinc breakfast bar, good galley with Miele cooking, good refrigeration and a Barista coffee maker and bean grinder….! There are 4 custom built bar stools in stainless steel and bark leather and a wonderful sofa and 2 Chesterfield armchairs. The forward bulkhead has drawer that reveal epic storage for the yacht’s crockery made by Wedgewood – Curious Animals series.
Her owners’ stateroom is forward with en-suite heads and full of wonderful handcrafted joinery. The London Basin company supplied the basin here and in the guest heads. There is a comfortable double berth cabin aft and spacious upper and lower berth cabin adjoining it.
On deck, she is set up for easy sailing with a carbon spar and Harken deck gear. She has powered winches and sail handling can be controlled from the cockpit. She has a flat furling Reacher that is stowed in a bag, by OneSails for easy deployment and of course, she sails like a witch.
Her exterior woodwork in solid Sepa Mahogany is finished in Awlwood which has a life of 10 years, so the maintenance is nothing to be fearful of. She has covers for all her bright work. Her topsides paintwork has just a hint of green – a nod to the owl and the pussycat and their famous voyage!
